We all have a role in maintaining the beauty of the Brookside Community both for our own enjoyment and to keep our property values competitive. Please look at your home from time to time to see if it might benefit from a coat of fresh paint or some landscaping upkeep. In the spring and fall the Board of Directors walks through the property to make sure that all is in order and sends reminders to homeowners about needed exterior maintenance. Plans for all changes to the exterior of your property, including painting, roofing, decks, and other exterior features, and landscape changes must be submitted for board approval. The board review is limited to consideration of the harmony and compatibility of design, and location and appearance of the proposed change in relation to surrounding structures and topography. It is the responsibility of the homeowner and the contractor to make certain the proposed changes are in compliance with any local, county or state requirements, and any applicable township or municipality permits obtained before construction (or changes) begin. A copy of the building permit must be filed with the Brookside Manager.
Projects previously approved do not set a precedent such that the present Board of Directors are bound by the architectural policies of previous boards. The architectural policy that is in effect is the policy of the present board.
Applications by renters must be submitted by the homeowner.
